I have no idea!!! I’ve heard so many people through the years claim so many things… if you just tithe god will open the floodgates of heaven… if you just pray the prayer of jabez, your territory will be expanded… if you just have the faith of a mustard seed…. if you live your life avoiding sin…. If you tell the truth… if you….. It goes on and on and on. And at this point most of the conversations I’ve had with good church going people is that… none of it works! There are so many people, besides me, that have so many more questions than answers, and the answers they get from the bible toting, big mouth preachers DO NOT work. The messages people get on Sundays just lul people into a stupor of ignorance. By ignorance, I mean they get messages preached at them from people who have not experienced the life that 99% of us live, and yet they believe they can give life changing messages from that lack of life experience. And they get paid to do it! Just because they have a degree, or the title Dr., we give them our money and our undivided attention, expecting some miracle to come from the words they speak. Hell, they can even fuck up their relationships with people, and they are not held accountable. Aren’t the relationships supposed to be the most important thing?I’ve realized that this system is not going to change anytime soon, because people can’t stop feeding it! I am just convinced that if the Jesus these preachers are preaching was the real thing… our communities would be completely different. But with the way christians treat eachother, there is no way for God to be God in us, and we miss the majority of what he says anyhow, waiting to hear what we want to hear before we make a move. I think it’s all a crutch! Excuses after excuses, because that’s all we’ve ever seen.
Some of you asked for this, by wondering why I’m not posting… I tried to shelter you from the thoughts in my head, and I apologize if any of this offends you… but nobody else is saying or doing a damn thing about any of this. You ask me what should be done??? I have no idea!!! It’s because we were supposed to do it together, but instead decide to take the role of stupid sheep and follow shepards blindly wherever they say we should go. We even justify it by saying ‘well he really said some things this Sunday that I needed to hear.’
Where are the people that are just plain sick of it? Where are the people that believe there is a better way… that God has a better way than what we’ve been trying to shove down people’s throats for hundreds of years. I just think they are lazy asses, and just want to sit in their comfy lazy chairs, while the world passes them by every day.
These are the rantings of a lunatic… a heretic… and whatever other …ic you want to label me with. But I’ll tell you what, It comes from a genuine place of authentic, heartfelt struggle… and you have no right to stand in judgement of me.
